British Isles Special Interest Group
Welcome to the British Isles Research Group. We are a small special interest group on all things British Isles, focusing on research and sharing as a group. We currently meet virtually the second Friday of each month at 3:00 pm.
You will first need to be a general member of the Genealogy Society to join the group and receive the link to the meetings (via zoom.com). But joining the GSSB is easy if you aren't already a member, and our group does not collect dues beyond the annual dues already required by the society.
If you are a member of the GSSB, you only need to express interest via email (contact@gssb.net) to join the special interest group, which will allow you to receive the link to our meetings via email.
As a member of the British Isles Group, you'll share similar interest with the other members as we all work to research our roots back to the British Isles, whether colonial or in more recent times. If this is an interest of yours then you've come to the right place. We also assist each other to increase our knowledge, by sharing our findings, and learning about useful research methods.
We maintain a compilation of all of the individuals who have been identified by members as their ancestral migrant to America. This listing is available to all members of the GSSB to view, whether they are a member of the special interest group or not.
