The GSSB offers a variety of educational opportunities. They range from bi-annual beginning level genealogy classes to a range of specialized programs, how-to workshops, and advanced studies and seminars, as well as monthly meeting programs
The society also notifies members through it's publications of upcoming non-GSSB training, workshops, seminars, webinars and other learning opportunities that may be of interest to them.
BASIC GENEALOGY CLASSES  (click link for more info)
For those new to genealogy, we offer a Basic Genealogy Course. This course is designed to introduce students to the process used in performing genealogical research and to present some of the many valuable research tools available.

The course is taught twice a year, in the Winter and again in the Fall.  Classes are normally held at the Melbourne Public Library on Fee Ave., however, we have temporarily suspended in-person winter classes for 2022 due to COVID safety concerns.  As an alternative, we are offering an ONLINE Beginner Basic Course.  

Online Course Schedule:     Each Tues. 7pm - 8pm       Feb. 8, 2022 to Mar. 29, 2022
Class size may be limited to provide more personal attention.  Pre-registration and payment is required. 
Registration:    Email with questions or to request registration. 
Cost Includes:  Full eight week online course plus annual membership to GSSB. 
Notes:  A home printer is recommended to print course materials. No cost to current members (with pre-registration).
A current member can pay for the Fall course to automatically renew your membership in the society for the following year. 
IN-PERSON COURSE COST: $35, Includes one-year membership in The Genealogical Society of South Brevard and all class materials.  (members pay $10, or $35 (which includes one year membership extension)
